Thank you for being here! My goal is always to evoke the natural, unparalleled majesty we feel when gazing up at the stars: knowing we are all connected to everything that is. I want you to feel powerful and expansive when you are wearing your crystal or fossil talisman. These pieces are for the MAGICAL and BOLD!
My process is highly intuitive and influenced by nature, science fiction, and fantasy. I strive to push boundaries and blur the lines between art and adornment.
I feel deeply connected to every piece I craft, mindfully hand selecting each stone and letting it guide the creation process based on its energy, aesthetic, and inherent wisdom. 'Become Spellbound' means to find the magic in everyday life, to stay curious and openhearted, to seek out the joyful experience of awe and wonder!
OUR FOUNDER
Hello! My name is Kari and I live in Baltimore City with my partner and three kitties. I consider myself a spiritual seeker and an am avid audiobook listener. I love to travel, try all manner of foods and make new friends. I have been creating art since I was a child. Art has always been my passion and I was encouraged to explore mediums and methods throughout my life both in and outside of school. Another great passion of mine has always been crystals, minerals and fossils, and all treasures of the natural world. I was more into playing with tumbled stones and discovering insects as a child than playing with dolls!
I was living in Manhattan when this process began to take shape. I was friends with a group of creatives who encouraged me to create jewelry and the process began to morph into what you see today. Taking a leap of faith in 2017, I left a successful career in the corporate world in Manhattan to begin creating full time, moved back to Baltimore, launched Become Spellbound, and have been creating ever since! I am so grateful for all the support that has allowed me to live this dream, including you reading this right now!
