Returning to the Earth - Guest post by Full Moon Acupuncture

There are moments when words from someone else land exactly where they’re needed.
This reflection from Martha of Full Moon Acupuncture felt like that.
If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, stretched thin, or simply in need of something quieter, I wanted to share her words with you here.
Dear Ones,
The more devastation, the more we must hide our devices in drawers and walk out the front door to meet the earth. We must spread out blankets, tattered and worn, and sit in her lap. We must say thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Thank you for the yellow rising of daffodils. For robins busily sifting through earth’s cover, hunting for worms. Finding twigs and trash to build nests. Thank you for your daily prayers of steadiness in the midst of constant change.
The more anxiety we experience, the more we must cancel plans to have pizza with friends and go to the woods. To the sacred. To the holy places that consecrate our souls. We must sit in the pews, our backs against tall, wise spines. We must micro-dose ourselves with pine, bark, blue sky and dirt-infused oxygen.
When feeling soul-weary, the songs of the natural world are here to soothe us. Comfort us. Nature, in her myriad forms, has the power to shift our consciousness and fortify the rivers of blood that flow through us.
When my soul needs to remember its belonging to the family of the larger world, I seek solitude in the arms of nature. And it never disappoints.
Big hugs and one day at a time, my friends,
Martha
